Ken's Car Tunes was founded in 1983 in Mobile, Alabama — back when car audio meant an AM/FM radio and maybe a cassette deck. Ken saw something different: a chance to bring real sound quality to the Gulf Coast, installed by people who actually cared about doing it right.
Over four decades, the technology changed. CD changers gave way to touchscreens. Speakers got better. Marine electronics went from basic depth finders to full NMEA-networked helm systems. Through all of it, one thing stayed the same — the commitment to expert installation and honest service that Ken built the shop on.
Today, Ken's Car Tunes operates three locations across Mobile and Pensacola, serving car audio enthusiasts, boaters, off-road drivers, and everyday commuters who just want their music to sound great. We're proud to be a Gulf Coast institution — and we're just getting started.

1983
Founded in Mobile, AL
Ken opened the doors of Ken's Car Tunes in Mobile, Alabama — a one-stop shop for car audio on the Gulf Coast. From day one, the focus was simple: great products, expert installation, and honest service.
1990s
Expanding the Shop
As car audio technology evolved — CD changers, amplifiers, custom enclosures — so did the shop. Ken and his team built a reputation for doing the job right the first time, earning loyal customers across Mobile County.
2000s
Marine Electronics & Gulf Coast Roots
Living on the Gulf Coast means boats are part of life. Ken's Car Tunes expanded into marine electronics — chartplotters, fish finders, VHF radios, and marine audio — serving the fishing and boating community that calls this coast home.
2010s
Second Mobile Location
Growing demand led to a second Mobile location, making it easier for customers across the metro area to get the service they needed without a long drive.

Pensacola & Beyond
